I have always been fascinated by the relationship between humans and technology, its amazing potential to make our lives easier and better, and also its inherent dangers and frequent failures.
That is why I’ve become an expert in communication, marketing and digital technologies working as teacher and researcher at the Catholic University of Portugal, based in Lisbon, where I coordinate the Post-graduate Course on Communication and Social Media.
Since 2004, my academic research has explored the social impact of digital technologies. My work includes the books “Young Children (0-8) and Digital Technologies: Portugal National Report” (2016) (with co-author Rita Brito), “Living in the Digital Society” (2014), “The Mobile Phone and Daily Life” (2008), and other scientific publications on mobile communication, communication and cognition, young children and digital technologies, branding and social media marketing, and social media and PR.
At the moment, I’m working on my postdoctoral research project on multi-screening and on the European Commission’s project “Young Children (0-8) and Digital Technologies”. Beyond academic life and work, I’m a full-time mom of two amazing kids and I devote most of my time and energy to my family. I also enjoy dancing, I need some offline time to relax…
